Lisa Barrett
Lisa has just started her Vet nursing career with us at The Cat Clinic. She is currently studying her Cert II in animal studies, and hopes to continue her studies to a Diploma in Vet Nursing, specializing in emergency care.
After many years living abroad without the friendship of a pet to call her own, Lisa is now settled back in Brisbane with her very naughty Persian cross, Mai. Lisa hopes after completing her education to work in animal welfare, finding good homes for lovely animals.
Amanda Garbowski
Amanda is new to the animal industry but has always had an interest in becoming a veterinary nurse. After completing her certificate III in animal studies, Amanda has now found her perfect job and is looking forward to her new career as she plans to become a fully qualified veterinary nurse.
Amanda does not have any pets of her own, but lives with a crazy toy poodle. When possible, she can’t wait to give a couple of kitties a loving home.
Heather Windle
Heather developed her love of cats while working at an animal welfare shelter. She joined her big sister Shelley at The Cat Clinic in 2004 and so far has had no family arguments!
Heather is our adoption centre coordinator and has been responsible for finding homes for more than 100 homeless cats since taking on this role. She spends lots of her day looking after naughty little kittens and getting them ready for their new homes. Heather is enjoying studying for her certificate in veterinary nursing and you will often find her at reception.
She has 2 cats Muffin and Shadow which are classified as totally spoilt.
Kaylene Crowley
Kaylene started at Creek Road in November 2006, having completed two years of a Bachelor of Applied Science in Animal Studies. She is enjoying the challenges of working as a veterinary nurse.
She grew up in the country town of Laidley with the two family dogs, her cat cuddles and two horses. In 2007 she will marry her partner Simon, then begin her vet nursing studies at Tafe.
No doubt she will soon adopt one of the cats at Creek Road.
Regan Cunningham
Regan’s love of cats and nursing has made her a valuable member of The Cat Clinic team since 1996 and has more years of nursing cats under her belt than anyone else.
You can be assured your cat is in great hands when Regan is looking after them. She has taken her studies in veterinary nursing as far as she can, with a double Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (Administration and Surgical) and last year she received an award from The Australian Veterinary Association for Excellence in Veterinary Nursing.
Regan’s also has a full-time job at home looking after her rapidly growing beautiful young family. Her twins, Trinity and Charlie are now 3½ years old and her baby Harmony is about to have her first birthday. She has Chockie the brown Burmese, Lucy the Tibetan Spaniel X Jack Russel and Cory the cod.
Shelley Windle
Shelley has been part of The Cat Clinic team since 2002 and is one of our senior nurses. Her early years were spent at our Paddington clinic and now she works mostly in the hospital at Mt Gravatt where her talents are required. When Shelley is taking care of your precious feline companions, you can be assured she is treating them as if they were her own.
Besides nursing cats, stock control and mentoring junior nurses, Shelley’s also coordinates the weight loss clinic (for the horizontally challenged cats) and the breeder’s program.
Shelley lives with her partner Adam, her 3 cats Nookie, Piglet and Mango, and many fish!
Stacey Seater
Stacey has been nursing for 5 years and joined The Cat Clinic in 2006. She was born and raised in country Victoria and has been in QLD for 8 years.
Stacey is one of the senior surgical nurses and spends her days organising and attending to surgical cases. She has a great passion for cats and their well being so plans to stay at The Cat Clinic for many years to come.
She has 3 cats and 2 dogs of her own and loves cats with squashed in faces.
Katherine Ball
My name is Katherine, I am originally from England and moved to Australia about five and a half years ago.
I studied for my Veterinary nurse qualification in Perth and have been nursing for 18 months. I am totally cat mad and own several of my own cats as well as two dogs.
I love the industry I am in, and am totally committed to caring for every cat that we see!!
Pippa Norris
Pip is a self confessed cat lover and qualified veterinary nurse who has been working at The Cat Clinic since 2006. After studying and working in the animal industry for 5 years, Pip wanted to fulfil her dreams of working with just cats and decided to specialise in feline nursing.
She owns two Burmese, Mia and Jethro, and a human, Dugald. The latter came without pedigree papers and was undesexed but after meeting the breeders, she decided to keep him anyway. When not knee deep in kitties, she enjoys piano, beer, gardening and gigs.
Becky Manderson
Since Becky was young she had always wanted to work with animals, so after finishing High School, it was what she was going to do.
Becky joined The Cat Clinic team in October 2007.
She is currently studying her Certificate II in Veterinary Nursing. She also has a cat of her own named “Dutchess” who is treated like royalty and is very spoilt. As well as a new member “Brunte” a Border Collie cross Kelpie puppy.
When not working with animals or playing with her own, Becky enjoys Ten Pin Bowling and has previously represented Australia
overseas.
Lydia Adams
Lydia has always dreamed of a career working with animals (cats in particular). So after 20 years working in retail, she decided it was time for a change, and she completed her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2006. She then worked as a nurse in Sydney, before moving to Brisbane, where she is now lucky enough to be part of the fantastic team at The Cat Clinic.
Lydia shares her house with her furry children, Oscar, Benson, Chloe, Sweet-Pea and Scruffy the dog.
Leah Caldwell
Leah has always had a passion for animals and has been working in the animal industry for the past 7 years. Working as a Zookeeper, she wanted to be able to help the animals and decided to study vet nursing.
She now has a Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing, and her love of all things feline led her to The Cat Clinic in 2009. Leah has 3 beautifu,l black and white kids at home, Rus, Mac and Holly.
Lynda Hartley
Lynda has only recently joined The Cat Clinic at the beginning of 2010. She has just started studying for her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing. Having come from an enjoyable career in Childcare, Lynda is now looking forward to a change, and is excited to be working in another environment that she is very passionate about.
She is not only kept busy at work, but also at home. She has 3 beautiful moggies, Pooka, Georgie and Lulu. Lynda can be found welcoming you and your kitties on arrival at our Clayfield clinic.
